작은 인간을 돌보심
시편 8:3-9
시편 8:3 When I look up at the heavens, which your fingers made, and see the moon and the stars, which you set in place,
시편 8:4 Of what importance is the human race, that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should pay attention to them?
시편 8:5 You made them a little less than the heavenly beings. You crowned mankind with honor and majesty.
시편 8:6 you appoint them to rule over your creation; you have placed everything under their authority,
시편 8:7 including all the sheep and cattle, as well as the wild animals,
시편 8:8 the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea and everything that moves through the currents of the seas.
시편 8:9 O LORD, our Lord, how magnificent is your reputation throughout the earth!
해설
시인은 밤하늘의 달과 별을 바라보며 그것을 지으신 하나님을 생각합니다.
광대한 하늘 앞에서 사람은 작지만, 하나님은 그 작은 사람을 기억하고 돌보십니다.
사람에게 영화와 존귀를 주셨다는 말은 인간의 가치가 하나님의 뜻에 뿌리를 둔다는 뜻입니다.
하나님은 사람에게 자신이 만드신 세계를 맡기고 돌볼 책임을 주셨습니다.
그 책임은 생명을 마음대로 해쳐도 된다는 허락이 아니라 맡겨진 것을 귀하게 다루라는 부르심입니다.
우리가 보잘것없게 느껴질 때에도 이 시편은 하나님이 사람에게 주신 존엄을 돌아보게 합니다.
시인은 사람을 높여 주시는 하나님의 이름을 찬양하며 노래를 마칩니다.
