멀지 않은 하나님
사도행전 17:24-28
사도행전 17:24 The God who made the world and everything in it, who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by human hands,
사도행전 17:25 nor is he served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives life and breath and everything to everyone.
사도행전 17:26 From one man he made every nation of the human race to inhabit the entire earth, determining their set times and the fixed limits of the places where they would live,
사도행전 17:27 so that they would search for God and perhaps grope around for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.
사도행전 17:28 For in him we live and move about and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’
해설
바울은 하나님을 잘 알지 못하는 아테네 사람들에게 창조주 하나님을 소개합니다.
하나님은 하늘과 땅의 주인이시며 사람이 지은 신전에 갇혀 계시지 않습니다.
사람이 하나님께 생명을 공급하는 것이 아니라 하나님이 우리에게 생명과 호흡을 주십니다.
바울은 모든 민족이 한 근원에서 나왔으며 하나님의 다스림 아래 살아간다고 말합니다.
그가 전하는 하나님은 사람들이 찾고 알아 가기를 바라시는 분입니다.
하나님은 우리 각 사람에게서 멀리 떨어져 계시지 않으며, 우리의 삶은 그분께 의존합니다.
이 말씀은 하나님을 낯선 종교의 대상으로만 여기던 사람에게 그분을 찾아보도록 길을 열어 줍니다.
